Feminist and queer, Élisa Vdk has been developing a video practice rooted in bodies, struggles, and encounters for over a decade.

 

Directing, shooting, editing — she crafts vivid, sensitive, and embodied images at the intersection of documentary and cultural, feminist, and queer scenes, in Brussels and beyond (music videos, live recordings, concerts, festivals…).
 

In 2020, she released her first documentary, Les nouvelles guérillères, a dive into the fourth wave of feminism in Brussels.
 

With Le cri des coquelicots (2022), she amplifies the voices of Brussels women* living in precarious conditions, moving away from clichéd and miserabilist narratives to foreground strength, solidarity, and dignity.
 

Her latest film, Chosen Family, released in May 2025, follows four non-binary artists at a turning point in their journeys, within Brussels’ vibrant and ever-evolving drag scene.
 

Politically engaged and unapologetic, her visual language is bold, colorful, and deeply alive.
